Hello I just found your blog! Love the beautiful pictures of all the estate sales! I wish I lived in Texas! :-)
I just wanted to tell you and your readers we had the WORST experience with an estate sale co. here in Michigan! When we met them they came off as God fearing Christians and honest down to earth woman!
They guaranteed we would make a lot a lot of money since we had a 3 story victorian farm house filled with antiques and misc.
stuff! The night before the half off sale day her and her employees went thru the house and took anything worth lots of money {Such as a blue willow set of dishes valued at $550.00 and a vintage dinning room set valued at $1500.00 etc etc} oh there were lots more that they took! But you get the idea! Later we found out her friends {dealers} came in and helped them selves to what they wanted too!
The bottom line is...are you ready for this???
We received a check for $400.00 yes $400.00 for all of the things they supposedly sold minus their 20%.
We called an attorney and since we did not have an inventory sheet signed by both parties involved it was our word against theirs!
We got shafted!
Needless to say we have a bitterness against estate sale companys! I know or hope they do not all work that way but we wanted to warn anyone to please please cover yourselves...get an inventory and a signed contract!
Do research before hiring.
Thank you for letting me voice my experience!
I hope I can help someone!

Sincerely,
Dolly
